On the first episode of DIFC Unplugged, we take off into the thriving world of Aviation Leasing and Financing. This rapidly evolving sector continues to play a significant role in the growth of regional economies – in the next 20 years, the number of air travelers in the region, specifically the Middle East and Africa, is expected to exceed the global rate of 3.6%, with a projected growth rate of 5% and 5.8% respectively. Located at the very heart of this dynamic region, Dubai is set to reinforce its position as a leading global aviation hub.
Our guest today is Firoz Tarapore, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), a home-grown business at the DIFC and one of the largest aircraft leasing companies in the world. Headquartered in Dubai and with over 30 years of experience, DAE’s leasing and engineering divisions serve over 110 airline customers around the world from its seven offices in Dubai, Dublin, Jordan, Singapore and the US.
Firoz tells us about DAE’s journey over the last 11 years, sheds light on the company’s plans for the future and shares his views on the future of the industry.
