DIFC

The Intersection of Blockchain & Ethical Data Management

Overview

To commemorate International Privacy Day, DIFC invites you to a session on how fundamentally privacy, security and emerging technologies such as blockchain are connected.

Fintech, Regtech, and InsurTech are all areas of growth using the technology. Most IT and regulatory experts agree this area is one in which they must walk a very fine line together, as currently there is little regulation; however, the emerging IT must also have time to prove itself. Many jurisdictions, including the DIFC, have laws based on similar privacy and security principles, and therefore face similar issues regarding personal data management in business.

This event will address key data protection and security principles that emerging technology can present DIFC businesses, such as how data is used, where data is processed and how long data is stored.
