DIFC to Observe Earth Hour by Conserving Energy

Dubai, UAE- 26 March 2015: Dubai International Financial Centre, the mature global financial hub connecting the region, will turn off all lights in its offices, buildings and other areas of business as part of its sixth consecutive participation in the global annual initiative Earth Hour.

With energy conservation forming a core pillar of its social responsibility mandate, DIFC will mobilise the engagement of all its clients and stakeholders in the environment initiative that seeks to raise awareness on climate change and is widely recognised as a platform that creates transformations in energy habits.

"As a global financial centre, we are committed to being environmentally responsible by taking conscious and collective steps towards reducing our impact on the environment. We continue to be consistent in creating awareness and motivating the DIFC community to join the campaign and support the conservation of resources," said Arif Amiri, Deputy CEO, DIFC Authority.

DIFC has focused on the energy conservation initiative since 2010, encouraging its clients to promote a green environment that helps reduce costs while increasing output.
