DIFC to Re-Launch Art Nights at Gate Village

Dubai, 11 March 2014, Art Nights at Gate Village will return to the DIFC on 17th March, 2014. Scheduled to take place between 7 and 10 PM, Art Nights is a public event open to any and all art enthusiasts, families and finance professionals.

Art Nights has become an important part of the DIFC cultural calendar. The event, now in its fifth year, has helped to firmly establish DIFC Gate Village as a creative space and cultural hub in the region. The upcoming Art Nights will feature exhibitions, music, live art, workshops, and film screenings.

Audiences will also be able to enjoy a number of music shows, including performances by Freshly Ground Sounds, a non-profit community initiative that supports grass roots musicians in the UAE. In collaboration with Dubai Art Season, world renowned 3D artist Julian Beever will showcase a specially commissioned installation entitled 'Anamorphic illusions'.

Ping Pong Dubai will be returning to Art Nights with a number of tables and a dedicated ping pong area in the DIFC. Visitors can learn about the community initiative, challenge each other to games and watch live graffiti performances.

The Gulf Film Festival (GFF) will be participating for the first time and in the lead up to the 7th edition of the festival, there will be a number of screenings for film fans to enjoy.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy live art exhibitions and performances, sponsored by The Art Beat, Nokia and Praesidium, and music from award winning Break DJ Lobito.

Once again, visitors will be able to travel to and from the event for free thanks to a partnership with Uber, the transport smartphone application that enables users to order a taxi at the click of a button. Uber can be downloaded by individuals who wish to request a ride by using the promo code Art Nights.

The Ritz Carlton, DIFC, will host the official after party, 'Art After Dark', at No.5 Lounge & Bar where canapés and drinks will be served. Visitors will also be able to enjoy live art performances, sponsored by Nokia and Praesidium, and music from award winning Break DJ Lobito.
