Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) today announced the appointment of Nashwa Zakaria as Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at DIFC Authority. In addition, the Authority announces the internal promotions of two additional UAE nationals, Shaima Al Gergawi and Khadija Ali. The new roles reflect DIFC’s commitment to the hiring, development and nurturing of Emirati talent.
Nashwa will be leading DIFC’s communications strategies globally, as well as overseeing the organisation’s internal communications function. Nashwa joins DIFC from twofour54 in Abu Dhabi where she headed the communications and events department. She brings 20 years of regional experience in marketing, communications and media to her new role with DIFC. In her new capacity, Nashwa will play a crucial role in providing strategic direction to various departments, including marketing, internal and external communications, and branding.
Khadija Ali, currently Associate Director of Business Entities, will take on the role of Director of Business Development for DIFC’s non-financial services. Khadija will support the Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer in developing and promoting business development strategies while positioning the DIFC brand regionally and globally. Khadija has gathered a wealth of experience since joining DIFC in 2005. In 2009, Khaldija was selected to participate in the Future Leaders programme, aimed at developing talent within organisations.
Shaima Al Gergawi moves from her role as Associate Director of Human Capital to Director of Human Capital. With over seven years of experience within DIFC, Shaima will now develop and implement Human Capital strategies in the areas of Business Partnering, Training & Development, Retention, and Employee Engagement.
