DIFC Switches Off Lights in Support of Earth Hour



DIFC, the global financial hub of the region between the regional emerging markets and the world, joined millions worldwide yesterday in observing Earth Hour by switching off all lighting within the financial district between 8:30pm and 9:30pm.

Several businesses within DIFC also participated in this symbolic event to address climate change and energy conservation. DIFC's engagement during Earth Hour is one of its many global commitments to corporate social responsibility and environmental protection for a sustainable future.

The companies at DIFC that took part in this initiative were: Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME), Punjab National Bank, Credit Suisse, Norton Rose Middle East LLP, Flowers by CONTEMPO, JLT SPECIALTY LTD, Ashurst LLP, Sanne Group Dubai, Dun & Bradstreet South Asia Middle East Ltd, Advent Europe Limited, Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd, Almojil Investment, Duke University, Gulf Reinsurance Limited, United Insurance Brokers (DIFC) Ltd, RBC Dexia Investor Services, CHARTIS, Freshfields, UBS, NBK Capital, and Lockton MENA Limited.
