Dubai International Financial Centre Celebrates Planting Day



Dubai-UAE: 12 March, 2016 – In partnership with Dubai Municipality, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) today celebrated ‘Plantation Week’ with its ‘Planting Day’ initiative. Bringing together the community, DIFC planted four trees in front of The Gate Building and handed out 500 plant and flower pots to participants during the activity.

Aligned with the Government of Dubai’s objective of fostering a greener urban community, DIFC’s Planting Day is dedicated to encouraging environmental awareness and a healthier community while enhancing the emirate’s plantation and agricultural offerings.

DIFC’s senior management including Arif Amiri, CEO of DIFC Authority, Ian Johnston, CEO of Dubai Financial Services Authority, Mark Beer, CEO of Dispute Resolution Authority, led the event together with officials from Dubai Municipality, including Eng. Abdulla Rafia, Assistant Director General for Engineering and Planning Sector, Eng. Salah Amiri, Assistant Director General of Environment and Public Health Services Sector, Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Awadi, Director Public Parks and Horticulture Department and Ismail Al-Banna, Director of Corporate Marketing and Relations Department.
