Maktoum bin Mohammed Chairs DIFC Board Meeting



UAE, Dubai, 5 December 2017:  H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), today chaired the Centre's Board of Directors meeting.

Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed praised DIFC management's efforts for strengthening the Centre's global standing, ranking in the world's top ten financial centres, and the leading financial Centre for the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region.

During the meeting, DIFC Governor, H.E. Essa Kazim, highlighted the Centre's achievements during 2017, as well as its latest developments and initiatives, including FinTech Hive at DIFC, the region’s first FinTech accelerator launched by the DIFC this year.

Kazim emphasised DIFC's keenness to maintain its position as a leading regional financial destination, adding that the centre continues to make progress, develop infrastructure, and establish best practices and governance mechanisms to achieve the objectives of its 2024 strategy.
