Specialized accountancy and engineering consultancy firm to apply same vision and entrepreneurial spirit that has driven development of the region
Veris Delta International Limited (VDI), a leading consultancy, today announced the opening of its flagship office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
VDI has been granted approval by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to operate as an ancillary service provider from the DIFC.
VDI is a unique ancillary service provider consisting of an integrated team of accountants, engineers, and construction specialists. The consultancy’s expertise covers the disciplines of accounting, forensic engineering, construction management, litigation and expert witness services, as well as internal audit and risk management services.
Its flagship office in Dubai aims to provide a comprehensive range of consulting services to companies within the DIFC and throughout the Middle East region. VDI will concentrate on the specialized market niches in which it has highly sophisticated technical skills and will apply the same entrepreneurial spirit and vision that has driven the overall development of the region.
HE Dr Omar Bin Sulaiman, Governor of the DIFC, pointed out that the growing opportunities in the region augmented by the excellent business environment and facilities of Dubai and the DIFC, has continued to attract the world’s leading financial institutions and ancillary service providers to the DIFC.
“The founding aim of the DIFC was to modernize our region and integrate it into the world economy and global financial flows as an equal partner. Each new member of the DIFC Community, such as Veris Delta International, increases the depth of the regional market, brings leading edge expertise and technology and adds value to the financial services sector of our region and furthers our aim of better integrating the DIFC Region with the rest of the world,” Dr Omar added.
Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar, Chief Executive Officer of the DIFC welcomed Veris Delta International to the DIFC. “Over the past few years since we set up operations, we have seen a growth in business opportunities and addition of depth and sophistication to the markets. I am sure that Veris Delta International will find multiple opportunities to leverage from our region leading to its DIFC arm becoming one of its key operations over the coming years.”
VDI has relocated its Managing Director, Vishal Mehta, from the United States to Dubai where he will be responsible for the development of VDI’s Middle East operations. Vishal has over 18 years of experience providing a range of audit and advisory services to clients, including extensive international experience as CFO of an investment bank and most recently as partner KPMG, including partner in-charge of the internal audit practice at KPMG India.
“The infrastructure and the business and regulatory environment in the DIFC,” according to Vishal, “have fostered the growth of specialized consulting and advisory firms, such as ours. VDI will offer world-class services in niche areas such as litigation support, troubled project consulting and corporate governance and be actively involved in shaping the methodologies and practices of the businesses and industries it will serve throughout the region as they continue to grow and mature.”
“We are confident in our success as many of our professionals have served as leaders on the committees that have been the source of authoritative guidance on many major accounting and financial reporting issues in the U.S. We are excited to be here and look forward to building trusted advisor relationships with financial institutions, law firms, developers, contractors, regulators, as well as state-owned and family-owned enterprises,” he added.
