Zabeel Investments, DIFC Promote Opportunities at Careers UAE 2008

  • Zabeel Investments says it is vital to harness talent from local market
  • The DIFC aims to build pipeline of skilled professionals in Middle East financial services industry

Zabeel Investments announced that it will be one of the partners of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) at the Careers UAE 2008 fair held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre this month.

For the DIFC to be cemented as the financial services hub of the Middle East there needs to be a constant stream of educated and skilled professionals. Since the DIFC's launch in 2004, much of this talent has been imported from the US and Europe. The Careers UAE 2008 fair aims to equip UAE nationals with the knowledge and skills to ensure that companies hire locally.

HE Mohammed Ali Al Hashimi, Executive Chairman at Zabeel Investments, said: "Rapid expansion in the financial services sector in the Middle East, and in particular in the DIFC, is creating a vacuum as recruitment of skilled workers fails to keep pace. The Careers UAE 2008 event will help to ease this by providing UAE nationals with the knowledge to gain the skills that companies in the region are seeking."

Nasser AlShaali, CEO of DIFC authority, added: "We welcome the support and commitment of Zabeel Investments as a partner at the Career UAE 2008 event. The DIFC, along with all of its partners, are dedicated to enhancing employment opportunities within the region and ensuring that local talent reaches its potential and contributes to the future of the economy."
