Dubai-UAE: 19 March, 2017 – Dubai International Financial Centre, the leading international financial hub and destination for lifestyle, arts and culture, has announced a new outdoor movie night, in partnership with ICD Brookfield, aimed at bringing the community together for an evening of entertainment.
Film fans will be able to enjoy a variety of Hollywood blockbusters throughout the Movie Nights series, which will take place in March and April. The first edition of the free of charge DIFC Movie Nights will take place on Wednesday March 22 from 7:00pm, in The Balcony area of the DIFC Precinct Buildings.
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, the 2011 blockbuster starring Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Simon Pegg, is the first film in the series. Several scenes of the fourth installment of the franchise are set in Dubai, prominently featuring the iconic Gate Building, which will serve as a backdrop for DIFC Movie Nights.
Raja Al Mazrouei, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Communications at DIFC Authority, said: “Movie Nights are the latest addition to DIFC’s social calendar, showcasing the Centre’s offering beyond business and finance – the district is also an urban lifestyle space for the wider community to enjoy. Coupled with our wonderful array of art galleries, world-class restaurants and other establishments, DIFC is an ideal destination at the heart of the city.”
The movie night also serves as a taster for the restaurants located around The Balcony, each of which will showcase their signature offerings at great prices. Bazxar will offer a choice of three baskets: The Asian Basket, The Meat District Basket, and the Bazxar Café Basket, while Dome Café will serve mini burgers, sandwiches and fries. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a selection of steak sandwiches, burgers and fries from The Steak Bar.
DIFC’s commitment to art and culture is well known, with thousands regularly attending the bi-annual Art Nights event which provides a platform for artists from all over the world. The most recent event launched the new DIFC Art Integration Programme, an initiative which underlines the Centre’s credentials as a regional hub for arts and culture.
