Blood Donation Drive

In line with “Dubai Paperless Strategy”, it is mandatory to fill the Donor History Questionnaire (DHQ) by using Dubai Health application.

Certain eligibility criteria are outlined as follows:

• Blood donors must carry their valid Emirates ID throughout the donation procedure.
• Blood donors should be in good general health at the time of donation and between the ages of 18 and 65.
• Body weight should be 50 kg and above (donors who are 21 years old or younger must be 55 kg and above).
• Donors must have had enough sleep (at least 4 hours) on the previous day of donation.
• Donors should have had healthy food at least 4 hours or less before donation and should avoid fatty foods like egg, mutton, butter, cheese, etc., at least 12 hours before donation.
• Pregnant and lactating women are not recommended to donate blood for the sake of their health and their baby's health.
• Persons who have returned from malaria-endemic countries are not eligible to donate for 30 days (refer to the attached list of malaria-endemic countries).

 A person cannot donate if they:

• Have major health problems.
• Have diseases that can be transmitted through blood transfusion.
• Received blood or blood products within the last 6 months.
• Have undergone major surgery within the last 6 months.
• Have a history of malaria.
• Have a history of jaundice after the 11th birthday.
